Another one down. While WWE is the biggest and most prominent wrestling promotion in the world, there are all kinds of other companies around the world. Those promotions are smaller but still have a rather strong fan base. It can be a big deal when such a promotion gets a place on a major platform but unfortunately one such promotion’s presence is being downgraded.

According to PWInsider.com, wXw, a German wrestling promotion, will no longer be appearing on the WWE Network or Peacock now that the agreement between the two sides has expired. The company’s content is no longer available on the platforms. The WWE Network and Peacock aired independent promotions for a time, including Progress, in hopes of establishing another streaming tier which never came together.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that happens occasionally and it is more than a bit disappointing as a wrestling fan. The more content that is available to fans, the better the situation is, but in theory WWE was not getting enough on their side of the agreement. Hopefully wXw gained some fans when the content was available on the Network, as that can go a long way for a promotion’s future.
