What could have been. There are all kinds of stories that take place in WWE at any point, some of which can come and go without making a major impact. At the same time, there can be several stories which are planned but never actually come to fruition. Now we are hearing what one of those stories would have been had WWE actually gone through with the original plan.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Missing WWE Superstar Expected To Return At The Royal Rumble
Former WWE Superstar Tom Pestock (formerly known as Baron Corbin) was a guest on Insight With Chris Van Vliet and revealed the original plans for his feud with Kurt Angle. The original plan was going to see Angle refusing to wrestle so Pestock would taunt him with a gold medal. However, the angle did not take place as Angle was put into a match with Lars Sullivan instead and the medal idea was dropped. Pestock defeated Angle in Angle’s retirement match at WrestleMania 35.
They had a story. Check out Angle and Pestock:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could have made for something interesting, as Pestock taunting Angle to get him to come back into the ring would have worked well. For now though, it is the kind of thing that could have been good but instead we were stuck with what we got. The match and story could have been better and it is interesting to see what almost took place.
What do you think of the idea? How should the match have been set up? Let us know in the comments below.
