That’s a unique one. There have been all kinds of injuries and issues that have kept wrestlers out of the ring over the years. Most of the medical issues you hear about are injury related, but sometimes a condition will pop up that makes things that much odder to hear. That seems to have been the case again, as a former WWE star is out of action for a pretty unique reason.
New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that former WWE star Kushida will miss his scheduled match on Friday due to a case of hand, foot and mouth disease. Kushida was diagnoses with the disease after being looked at for a skin condition. There is no timetable for Kushida’s return to the ring. Kushida returned to New Japan back in June following a three year stint in WWE.
Opinion: That is the kind of thing that you do not hear about very often and hopefully Kushida is back to normal a lot sooner rather than later. The disease can be a rather nasty one and Kushida will need some time off to recover. Kushida did well with what he was allowed to do in NXT but his real success has always been in New Japan. If he can find his old success, then New Japan will be that much better because of it.
What do you think of Kushida? How well can he do in New Japan? Let us know in the comments below.
