For The Gold: World Heavyweight Title Match Set For Next Week’s Monday Night Raw

That’s a big one. Every so often you will see a major upset take place in a title match as a seemingly unbeatable champion loses their title to an underdog. This can lead to a variety of different outcomes, including a rematch down the line. That is what we are going to be seeing again soon, albeit with some very different circumstances between the two this time around.

Over the last few weeks, Sami Zayn has attempted to get a shot at Gunther and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther turned him down again and again until this week, when Zayn mentioned Gunther’s father. As a result, Gunther attacked Zayn and agreed to the match, which will take place on the October 7 Monday Night Raw. This will be a rematch from their match at WrestleMania 40 back in April, where Zayn defeated Gunther to win the Intercontinental Title.

Opinion: It was becoming more and more obvious that Zayn was going to get the title shot, but the question became just how we would get there. That wound up working out when Zayn went a bit more personal, which very well could wind up causing him a good bit of pain. Gunther is a force on his own but now he is going to have another reason to want to hurt Zayn.
