It was a busy night. WWE presents a variety of wrestling shows every single week and that adds up to quite a bit of content. The longest show of the week is Monday Night Raw, with three hours of content every week. That would seem to be enough to cover quite a bit, but there are several things that take place during the show without making air. That was the case again this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s Plans For The Rock’s Heel Turn, What He Will Be Drawing From
Monday Night Raw took place at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky this week and I, Thomas Hall, was in attendance for the show. There were three promo segments that took place during the show without making air. First, prior to Becky Lynch coming to the ring, Pat McAfee revealed to the crowd that it was Michael Cole’s 60th birthday, followed by McAfee leading the crowd in singing Happy Birthday.
Following the Lynch/Rhea Ripley/Nia Jax segment, LA Knight came to the ring for his match. During a break, Knight spoke about how he was going to win the Elimination Chamber and go on to WrestleMania, all while the ring crew changed the canvas after Lynch spilled lemonade on it in the previous segment. Finally, after the show was over, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn thanked the fans for coming and gave away both a signed weight belt and Rhodes’ shoes. Zayn told Rhodes to finish his story and had the crowd tell Rhodes thank you to end the night. There was no post show dark match.
The show had a lot going on. Check out what did make air:
Opinion: This is the kind of stuff that makes for a fun night, as it feels like you are getting something extra than just what you see on a regular show. At the same time, it helps get through some of the breaks, which go on for a rather long time when you are watching either live or at home. Either way, WWE is going some things right tonight and that is great to see at any time.
