Double take. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as any wrestler in any promotion is able to become a top star by winning a championship. This week’s Monday Night Raw saw two new #1 contenders crowned. First, Iyo Sky won a battle royal, last eliminating Lyra Valkyria, to earn a title shot against WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Later, in the show’s main event, Damian Priest defeated Sheamus, Dominik Mysterio and Seth Rollins to become #1 contender to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. There is no word on when or where the title matches will take place.
It was a big one. Check out the matches and what happened after:
Opinion: This is the kind of night that can make a big difference going forward, as having two title matches set for whenever WWE wants to present them is a great thing. Priest and Sky are a mixture of the champion Gunther took the title from and someone fresh for Morgan and that’s a great balance to have. I’m looking forward to both title amtches and that is a good sign for where this is going.
