Over What? CM Punk Reportedly Involved In Another Backstage “Argument” At AEW Taping

That’s good advice. To say that CM Punk’s time in AEW has been controversial would be an understatement. Punk has been involved in one situation after another, with the blame being firmly on or against him depending on whose side you take. It can be a big deal when he is involved in something and now it seems to be the case again, albeit for a different reason.

According to Fightful Select, Punk was involved in an argument with Jack Perry at some point during AEW’s recent tour of Canada. Perry reportedly wanted to use real glass in a backstage segment, despite being advised against it by the production team, Tony Schiavone and the medical staff. Punk is said to have believed that Perry wanted to do the segment his way at that time to avoid having to come in to work the next week and do it then, which Punk believes to be a problem in AEW. Punk also reportedly said that Perry should do that kind of thing “on Wednesdays” rather than Saturdays at Collision.

Opinion: At the end of the day, there is very little reason for Perry to want to use real glass no matter what is going on. Punk might have been a bit too abrasive in what he said, but ultimately he was presenting the right idea. I’m not sure how this is going to be received, but there is a good chance that Punk will not come out of it looking great, as tends to be the case with him, whether deserved or not.
