Why Did Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel Join Miz?

The Miz has a posse? Earlier this week on “Monday Night Raw”, Miz gained some new allies in the forms of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. While neither of them have been doing anything of note for months (if not years) on WWE TV, it was a bit of a surprise. It turns out that WWE had a specific reason for joining the three together.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, the duo joined Miz and his wife Maryse to differentiate them from Mike and Maria Kanellis, who debuted at Sunday’s “Money in the Bank 2017”. The worry was that there would be two power couple stories on the roster and that might be a bit of an issue.

Opinion: Let me make sure I’ve got this straight. WWE was worried that two pairs of people, whose similarities begin and end with two men named Mike and women whose names start with “Mar” and have both posed in Playboy, would be too confusing? But we can have two bosses per show, James Ellsworth pulling down the WOMEN’S Money in the Bank briefcase and John Cena suddenly being a free agent? This company certainly does have a tendency to over think things at times.
