That’s a big one. The WWE has gone out of their way to expand the NXT UK brand. After this weekend’s announcement of the first ever NXT UK Takeover, it’s clear that WWE has some big plans around here. The talent is already there on the brand, but you need some big names in there to really make an impact. Sometimes you need a big name here or there, and that’s what WWE seems to have done.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE has signed top European name WALTER (as it is spelled). The current Progress Wrestling World Champion, WALTER is a big man who wrestles a power style and is well known for his chops. He recently dropped the PWG World Title, which may have been for the sake of signing with WWE. At the moment this would be for the NXT UK brand only, though there is a chance that he could come over to work some regular NXT dates.
You’re going to need to get used to this guy. He’s got some crazy chops:
Opinion: You had to know this was coming one day. WWE is known for taking every big name they can find and WALTER is currently a top star on the independent circuit. The size alone is going to be worth a look and that’s the kind of thing that WWE tends to love. If nothing else, this is the kind of thing that keeps WALTER from wrestling for companies that WWE doesn’t want and it’s a case of addition by subtraction.
What do you think of WALTER? Will he wind up on them main NXT brand? Let us know in the comments below.
