The Best Of The Wackiest. Here Are The Top Five Weird Tag Team Champions.

Like peanut butter and motor oil. One of the more peculiar tropes of wrestling is the wacky tag team partner. Something that tends to keep coming up over the years is a team comprised of people who seemingly have nothing in common but happen to work well together. It’s something that can work quite well, but on the other hand, there are times where it just doesn’t work out. That’s never stopped WWE before.

WWE has posted a new countdown video looking at the strangest partners to become Tag Team Champions in company history. The top five video stretches back throughout history, with some dating back over twenty years and some taking place in much more recent history. The instances often includes top names who didn’t last long as a tag team, but others were much more long term changes.

Opinion: Like so many things in wrestling, this is something where your individual taste may vary. It can work well enough to set up a big story, but I’m rarely a fan of taking the titles away from champions who are having a good reign to do something like this for a few weeks at most. The Tag Team Titles are something that can help elevate people, but I don’t often see the point in using them to elevate people who are already high up on the card.
