Another NXT Star Makes Main Roster Debut (And It’s Not One Of The Six Already Announced)

There’s always room for one more. Over the last few weeks, one of the biggest stories in WWE has been the impending arrival of six (though now it seems to be five) NXT stars on the main roster. Those names have appeared on this week’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, but there are a few more names down in NXT and one of them made a jump as well.

This week on 205 Live, Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy issued an open challenge for a non-title match. The challenge was answered by NXT competitor Humberto Carrillo, who has wrestled on NXT in a tag team with Raul Mendoza. During the show, Carrillo was announced as a permanent member of the 205 Live roster. Before coming to WWE, Carrillo wrestled under the name Ultimo Ninja in Mexico and on the indy circuit.

Opinion: Works for me. Carrillo and Mendoza were one of the most entertaining teams on NXT and it’s cool to see him get a fast promotion. He’s tailor made for 205 Live and it makes sense to have him come up there to offer some fresh blood to the roster. You can only do the same matches over and over again so many times so adding a new name is a good idea.
