That’s a new one. There are all kinds of titles in WWE and they all have some sort of value. Holding a championship instantly elevates a wrestler’s value as they make anyone seem more important. That can be made even more special when someone wins an inaugural championship and it seems that is what we are going to be seeing in the rather near future under the WWE banner.

WWE CCO Triple H has announced that WWE will introduce a Women’s Speed Championship, with the tournament to crown the inaugural champion kicking off on September 4. There is no word on any participants. This comes as WWE launched Speed back in April earlier this year with a men’s champion being crowned. The show airs weekly exclusive on Twitter, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays.

Opinion: Sure why not. The men’s version of the title has been a fine addition to WWE and has hardly been a major problem. Let the women’s division have its own version, as it isn’t likely to cause any issues. It’s one of those things that might draw something of an audience to the Speed show but if it doesn’t work, WWE is hardly going to be out in any significant way.
