Hand them over. Title changes can be a huge deal in wrestling as they represent both a beginning and an ending. You can see the start of a reign and the closure of another, which can make for quite the huge change of pace. That can make for an important moment, especially if someone is winning a title for the first time. We saw just that this week in a wild finish.

The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh and Finn Balor defeated the Awesome Truth to win the World Tag Team Titles this week in the main event of Monday Night Raw. The match saw interference from Carlito, Dominik Mysterio, Braun Strowman and Liv Morgan, who had gotten the match set up in the first place. Balor and Damian Priest had held the Unified Tag Team Titles coming into WrestleMania 40, when they were split into two sets of titles, with the Awesome Truth winning the World Tag Team Titles.

Opinion: This is one of those title changes that makes sense, as Awesome Truth never quite felt like they were going to be long term champions, even though they held the belts for the better part of three months. There was so much going on at once and that helped make things feel all the more chaotic before the title change. It made the whole situation feel that much bigger and that is great to see.
