Two worlds coming together. Wrestling has changed a lot since the beginning of last year and a lot of that has to do with the rise of AEW. The founders have gone from a bunch of people who made a web series and sold t-shirts to running one of the biggest wrestling companies in the world. That isn’t something that happens overnight and now they are going to get some interesting publicity from a major source.

There may be no bigger name in all of entertainment than the Rock. He dominated the world of professional wrestling and then moved on to Hollywood, where he has become the top movie star in the world. That isn’t something that is easy to do but as a result, Rock almost has the Midas touch. This includes a competition show on NBC, which is where the two stories cross.

AEW has announced via Twitter that ring announcer and backstage interviewer Dasha Gonzalez will compete on the second season of the Rock’s Titan Games, under her real name of Dasha Kuret. The series is a competition show, with competitors facing off in various games. This season will also include Celebrity Titans, who will compete against the regular competitors. The winner will receive $100,000, either for themselves or in the case of a Celebrity winning, for the charity of their choice. Season two premieres on Monday May 25 at 8pm EST on NBC.

The series could be great. Check out a trailer for the season, plus a look at both Gonzalez and the Rock:

Opinion: This is something that helps out everyone involved. AEW can hype up the fact that one of their names is involved in a series with the Rock on a major network while the Rock gets to tie the series into wrestling. There is no guarantee that Gonzalez is going to be a front runner on the show or anything close to it, but is hardly something that can go badly for anyone involved.
