AEW Announces New Tournament To Honor Wrestling Legend

It would be an honor from AEW. There are certain wrestlers who are legends for at least one reason, but there are some whose reasons are a lot sadder than others. That is certainly the case with wrestlers who pass away before their time. Thankfully there are not as many of these as there have been in generations past, and now one of the better known ones will be receiving an honor.

AEW has announced that they will be partnering with the Owen Hart Foundation to honor the legacy of Owen Hart. This will include an annual tournament held within AEW, with the winner receiving a trophy known as “The Owen”. AEW will also offer exclusive Hart merchandise and Hart will appear in an upcoming AEW console video game. There is no word on when the tournament will start.

Opinion: This is a rather cool moment and something that fans have been wanting to see for a very long time now. Hart’s death was one of the true tragedies in wrestling history as it was a complete accident where Hart did nothing wrong. It will be nice to see him honored in some way and AEW is the kind of promotion that can do something like this in a rather successful way.
