Get your brackets ready. Tournaments are one of the easiest concepts in all of wrestling as any fan can get the idea. You take a bunch of wrestlers, put them into a field and the last wrestler standing wins. They might win a championship, a title shot or some other kind of prize, but for the most part, they all work the same. That should be the case with another newly announced tournament.
AEW is running another World Title eliminator tournament, with the winner earning a future shot at the AEW World Championship. The tournament will consist of eight wrestlers and begins next week on AEW television, with the finals taking place at Full Gear on November 13. This is the second edition of the tournament, with the first taking place last year. AEW has released the brackets for the tournament, as revealed on this week’s Dynamite:
10
Jon Moxley
Orange Cassidy
Powerhouse Hobbs
Dustin Rhodes
Bryan Danielson
Lance Archer
Eddie Kingston
There are some potential winners in there. Check out who could be getting the title shot:
Opinion: This is something that should work out well, and a final of Danielson vs. Moxley could work out rather well for everyone involved. Tournaments are the kind of thing that can take some time to get going, but if you can find one that works out well, it can be quite the spectacle. AEW has a history of pulling something like this off, and hopefully they can do it again.
