That’s rather different. Wrestling is perhaps the most unique sport in the world, as wrestlers are able to stay in the ring far longer than most traditional athletes can stay active. You will often see a wrestler getting back in the ring in a special moment for a one off match, which was the case again this weekend. It just happened to be one of the strangest matches you will ever see.

According to PWInsider.com, 83 year old Dory Dunk Jr. teamed with Osamu Nishimura to defeat Atsushi Onita and Raijin Yaguchi in a Double Hell Current Explosion Death Match. The event was put on by FMW-E in Kanagawa, Japan and was a celebration of 50 years of Onita’s career, as well as a tribute to Funk’s brother Terry, who passed away last year. This was Funk’s first match in nearly six years. Also of note: Nishimura is currently battling stage our cancer.
Dory Funk, Jr. ended up taking a exploding bat shot from Onita during the match but was able to get the win with a spinning toe hold over Yaguchi. Both Dory and Nishimura seemed to be fine after the match. pic.twitter.com/HqmHzWGygi

He’s had better days. Check out other times in Funk’s career:
Opinion: What in the world are you supposed to say about this? Funk has been wrestling since the early 1960s and here we are decades later, seeing him get hit with an exploding baseball bat at a show in Japan. That is one of the most bizarre stories you will ever hear and I have no idea how this was set up in the first place. Hopefully everyone is ok, but this is one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard of in wrestling, or anywhere for that matter.
