He’s back. Retirement is a tricky situation for any wrestler as you never know when someone is going to actually wrestle their last match. While someone might seem to be out of the ring for good, there is the chance that they might come back to the ring later on in a surprise. That was the case this week, as a former WWE champion returned to the ring or the first time in a very long time.

In recent weeks, Oleg Prudius, better known as Vladimir Kozlov in WWE, has been appearing in Impact Wrestling as Dirty Dango’s bodyguard. This week, Prudius teamed with Dango to win a tag team match. This was Prudius’ first match of any kind since 2012. Since leaving wrestling full time, Prudius, 44 years old, has been dabbling in acting, which was mentioned during his match.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes for some interesting situations as I can’t imagine many fans were expecting Prudius to ever wrestle again a few years ago. It’s a nice bit of a flashback and it might even lead to something bigger down the line. If nothing else, a reunion with Santino Marella of some sort almost has to be in the cards, just for nostalgia if nothing else.
