How The Styles vs. Nakamura Stipulation Changed NXT Booking

It was confirmed during SmackDown Live this week that Shinsuke Nakamura will be facing AJ Styles at Money In The Bank in a Last Man Standing Match.

With this news coming out, Ringside News is reporting that the decision to have the Last Man Standing match directly conflicted and subsequently changed the booking Triple H had done for NXT.

According to Ringside News, by way of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this decision changed the intended match NXT TakeOver: Chicago between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.

The match, which was originally supposed to be a Last Man Standing bout, has been forcibly changed to a Street Fight. Had WWE not went this route for the WWE Championship feud, the NXT rivalry between the former #DIY Tag Team Champions would play out significantly different.
