It all kicked off when a fan with the handle @briantheguppie tweeted a clip from a NJPW match between WIll Ospreay and Marty Scurll.
In the clip, Ospreay appeared to have injured his neck after a botched Spanish Fly. He was originally told he wasn’t able to compete during ‘WrestleMania’ week in New Orleans, but he has since confirmed he will be.

This tweet led to Disco Inferno getting involved. Here, Inferno claimed he has spoken before on the epidemic of the lack of common sense for injury prevention on the independent circuit.
I think I have discussed the industry wide epidemic of the lack of common sense regarding injury prevention. https://t.co/jLay9umgvJ

Another fan with the handle @Uncensored_WWE tweeted a photo of Rhodes with a slight cut over his left eye after Rhodes had taken a nasty kick from former IWGP United States Champion Kenny Omega.

This led to Inferno responding by saying that nobody knows how to “work” anymore and focus on just getting their matches over with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Nobody knows how to "work" anymore. They would rather kill each other to get @davemeltzerWON to put their match over. That is a problem that needs to be put front and center. Guys are going to keep getting hurt. https://t.co/NTwFopHlDR

This is where things would escalate to a whole new level. Rhodes took notice of the tweet due to fans tagging him. Let his response speak for itself.
Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced up double-lifer "over with the boys" type in an era where you hid in plain sight coasting on others' success. Couldn't hang then, can't get booked now. https://t.co/0kiDAgyhlT

A few hours later, Rhodes would follow that tweet up with another, explaining that he takes no pride in what he said, but he feels Inferno was wrong to make those comments.
I take no pride in ending that man's career w/a single tweet…but this whole "they're doing it wrong…I know how to do it right…they're exposing the business…"
That logic itself is exposing the business. Don't let the bitter have a place in our world.
Conversation is done

Omega also responded to Inferno, claiming he was intending to work for Inforno’s show but has now no intentions of doing so.
To think I was trying to find gaps in my schedule to do your show…. so much for that.

If you’re unfamiliar with Inferno, check out a match he had against Saturn back in WCW.
