‘Starrcade’ was considered by WWE to be extremely successful, with the special live event in Greensboro, NC receiving a much larger audience then the previous show in that building.
Due to this, WWE officials are already considering another ‘Starrcade’ live event in 2018. It is unknown where the location would be, but the event’s home has traditionally been in the Carolinas, so it isn’t expected to go outside that area.
The show was written by WWE Hall of Famer Michael “PS” Hayes, who actually pitched for the revival of the name earlier this year back in June. Ultimately, Vince McMahon approved it and the announcement was made months later.
There are no plans for this past ‘Starrcade’ or the 2018 iteration to be aired on the WWE Network. It was never intended to be for TV and was produced as a standard live event, on a much higher scale.
WWE did use multiple cameras to film ‘Starrcade,’ but this is common practice at live events, generally speaking. That said, if they ever decided to air footage at a later date, it exists.
In the video we have provided below, two time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair discusses the significance of ‘Starrcade’ and what it means to the performers. You can also find Goldust giving tribute to his father at the event here.
