Just in case you have forgotten how the Hall of Famer became the GM of ‘Raw,’ we highly suggest you watch the video we have provided below. After ‘WrestleMania 33‘ when it had become apparent Mick Foley could no longer continue in his position due to needing surgery, Angle was called upon to take that position by Mr. McMahon. Check it out.
On if he could potentially compete again:
“You’ll see me back in the ring, for sure. I don’t know when, but I can’t wait.”
On how different the locker room in WWE is now to back in 2006:
“You realise you’re in a different time in society. The wrestlers are different, they’re not the same as they were. They have different habits, they’re healthier now, they’re more prone to taking care of themselves. There is a great wellness and fitness policy, the physical is hard as hell to pass. There is a great drugs policy, so you have to commend the WWE on taking care of their athletes right now.”
On his role as GM of ‘Raw’:
“There was never supposed to be a GM role. I don’t know if it was Mick Foley’s hip or WWE just decided they wanted to bring my on the TV. It’s been a lot of fun. I love being with the guys and girls and every week you get a closer bond with them. I’m obviously from a different generation so it’s kind of different for me to be here now. They’ve welcomed me and made me feel at home, I’m having a great time.”
