A couple of weeks ago, “Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins noted on “Monday Night Raw” he was good at just about everything, and even noted he could take over “The Daily Show” once current host Jon Stewart retires later this year.
After the insult, Stewart responded back, cutting a promo of his own. The video went viral, and Rollins even invited Stewart to the recent “Fastlane” pay-per-view to show his face.
It appears WWE does intend to run an angle between the two going forward, as Rollins made an appearance on “The Daily Show” Thursday night, inviting Stewart to the upcoming “RAW” tapings in nearby Newark, New Jersey. Stewart did not appear to (totally) back down from the challenge, as he now may appear on the program.
In the most recent edition of The Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer notes WWE is looking to run an angle that would lead to having Stewart at WrestleMania, possibly in Randy Orton’s corner. There have been some concerns over WrestleMania being held in Santa Clara and Stewart taping in New York City, however.
The video of Rollins intimidating Stewart can be found below.
Editor’s Note
Getting Stewart involved with WrestleMania would be a big get for WWE. Would reach a key demographic and turn some TV’s on with mainstream attention.
