Late last year, former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Batista capitalized on the fame he garnered from “Guardians of the Galaxy” and turned it into a role in the upcoming James Bond film “Spectre.” In the movie, Batista plays a trained henchman named Mr. Hinx, a classic Bond name.
The world has already gotten its initial glimpse of Dave Bautista as the character, but Empire has released a new photo as well, which can be found below:
The article also features a quote from Batista on his casting for the character:
“When I came over to meet Sam [Mendes], I only asked two questions,” says the erstwhile Galaxy Guardian. “I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, ‘Yes, he’s a badass.’ I said, ‘Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?’ He said, ‘Very.’ That’s what I like about Mr. Hinx. He’s very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I’m not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humour. He definitely knows what a metaphor is.”
Despite being in the film, the former champion is still technically under WWE contract. There had been plans at one point to bring him back to television, potentially even in time for WrestleMania, but those fell through as soon as he signed on to star in the Bond film.
It is unknown if he will return to wrestling following its completion.
