Jimmy Wang Yang was a mainstay in the cruiserweight division during his tenure in WWE. Yang, real name James Yun, was first signed on with the company from 2003 through 2005 as Akio, but left and was later repackaged under his more successful “redneck” moniker.
According to an update on his official Facebook page, Yun may be gearing up for a return to WWE.
The 33-year-old posted the following Sunday night:
I haven’t worn this in awhile. Tomorrow is going to interesting. Guess who returns to WWE Raw???#jwycomeback #WWEneedsWang
It is entirely possible Yun is working his Facebook audience, as he has largely been absent from prominent wrestling programming for some time. He had a brief run in TNA, but did little with it and has been absent elsewhere. He was released from WWE in April of 2010 after doing little on the main roster, mostly being regulated to jobber-status.
Monday’s edition of “RAW” will hail from Cincinnati, Ohio, where Yun currently resides. WWE has not made any statement as to whether he is actually back with the company.
Under current circumstances, normal talent returns like this would be regulated to NXT. With that said, it is very possible he is merely working his audience.
