WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was given one more opportunity to return to the announcer table when he called “Wrestle Kingdom 9” for Global Force Wrestling alongside Matt Striker. The two received positive reviews for their contributions, but Ross noted it was a one-time deal.
With word of Global Force wrestling looking for a television home for its future tapings, the rumor mill has begun swirling once more. As revealed on his blog, Ross is in talks to announce for Global Force Wrestling.
Ross wrote the following:
“Getting lots of questions about what’s next for Global Force Wrestling and I expect Jeff Jarrett to address this matter after WrestleMania. However if he does to a series of TV tapings I do think that doing them in Las Vegas is a splendid idea. Begs the question, if Jeff actually is planning on taping TV, could a network deal be too far behind? Yes, Jeff and I are talking but there is no “deal” on the table at this time.”
Ross has kept busy since departing from WWE, working with Fox Sports and calling some boxing and MMA. However, his calling of “Wrestle Kingdom 9” was his first venture into wrestling since leaving WWE.
With no deal officially announced for GFW, it is unlikely word of a partnership between Ross and Jeff Jarrett would come out anytime soon.
Editor’s Note
They know they have to make it happen. Just need to see if it’s logistically possible.
