It has been some time since Jeff Hardy was last seen in a TNA ring. Earlier this year, Hardy severely broke his leg in a biking accident, causing he and brother Matt Hardy to be stripped of the TNA Tag Team Championship. TNA president Dixie Carter revealed the injury to be a broken tibia, with a recovery time estimated between four and six months.
“Jeff Hardy will be a part of the IMPACT WRESTLING Tapings that will Air on Destination America. Hardy will be a part of the action beginning July 28 through the 30th. So if you are in the Orlando area the next few days don’t miss a moment of the action and join us at Universal Studios to see Jeff Hardy and the stars of IMPACT WRESTLING! Admission to the events are free and on a first come first served basis. Don’t miss out!”
Since then, the expectation would be that Hardy would be able to return to TNA around the end of the summer, with a television return likely occurring some time in August. Monday night, TNA taped the beginning of a TNA/GFW invasion angle at its “IMPACT” tapings, with more tapings set to occur Tuesday through Thursday.
More interestingly, these upcoming tapings could be the last major set of “IMPACT” shows put together for Destination America. With rumors swirling of potential cancellation in September, these shows would take the program up to that point. Hardy will undoubtedly provide name recognition that will aid TNA’s cause, but will it be enough to help cement the show’s status with the station?
At this time, it is unclear as to what aspect of the angle Hardy will be involved in.
