Former WWE Superstar and soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts announced on Friday that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Roberts told TMZ that he will be undergoing surgery to remove the growth as soon as possible.
Roberts said that he discovered a tumor “the size of a half dollar” behind his knee in January, and decided to get it tested by doctors. The results came back Friday, and showed that the tumor is cancerous. He also noted that it is growing into his muscle, and needs to get it removed immediately.
Despite this, TMZ says he plans to make his return to the ring on March 14 for Jersey Championship Wrestling. He told the outlet:
“If the devil can’t defeat me, cancer doesn’t stand a chance in hell! Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease ’cause The Snake will be just fine.”
Roberts was announced for the Hall of Fame last month, and will join the likes of The Ultimate Warrior and Lita in New Orleans for his induction in April.
