WWE releases five NXT superstars in the midst of budget cuts following the announcement of their Second Quarter earnings. Those that have been let go are Garrett Dylan, Travis Tyler, Slate Randall, Mac Miles, and Dani Jackson.
PWInsider.com reports that the five have been removed from WWE’s roster and some have tweeted about the situation. Dylan, who is the son of country music legend and actor Kris Kristofferson, has been let go by WWE twice in one year now. He was released initially in August of 2013, only to be brought back early in 2014. He recently had been appearing on WWE television as one of Adam Rose’s “Rosebuds.”
Dylan tweets,
Looks like I couldn’t cut it… It hurts, but I have no one to blame. Thanks #NXT, It was a dream lifestyle. Loved it.

Much like Dylan, Tyler went to Twitter to announce that he had been cut from the company before anyone else could report it. He said,
I was probably the first guy to get fired while wearing a pink fanny pack in some time. I learned a lot and am thankful for the experience.

Randall, real name Shaun Ricker, was given an NXT deal following his appearance on the TNT competition reality series, “The Hero,” which was hosted by The Rock. He never made it onto an actual televised NXT event.
Miles, real name William McNamee, signed a deal after going through the same tryout process Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards took part in back in 2013. He made his WWE NXT debut during the July 17 tapings as Steve Cutler’s tag team partner. They were squashed by NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension.
Jackson, a female wrestler signed out of Ohio Valley Wrestling, was given a shot following the December WWE Performance Center tryouts. She never made it to NXT television, and may not have ever competed during NXT dark matches either.
Editor’s Note:
Budget cuts. We have a surplus of new international stars coming to NXT (thanks WWE Network for that), and they needed to make room. Eliminate some of the talent you aren’t using well, make some space. It’s not personal, strictly business.
