According to a new report from PWInsider.com, WWE officials told security to remove any signs related to Sting during “Monday Night Raw” on April 14. While rumors have consistently surrounded Sting and whether or not he will ever work for WWE in any shape or form, recent reports claim Sting has either signed a WWE contract, or has it in hand and will be making his official debut soon.
Why the company would want to remove signs surrounding Sting is the mystery. Many believe that Sting has already signed a deal with the company and is going to debut soon, however others believe that now that the Undertaker’s WWE future is in question, so is Sting’s.
The former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting has openly discussed wanting to face the WWE’s Phenom, and is only rumored to be considering performing on a “one time only” basis for the company. This means that when he debuts, it’s likely that we’ll only see one Sting match in a WWE ring.
Sting wants that match to be a WrestleMania match with the Deadman, but health concerns for the Undertaker now put his career in question. This is why some believe WWE officials do not want any mention of Sting, including fan signs in arenas, on WWE television right now. They’re trying to solidify a new deal with the man, yet they do not know when he will be making his first appearance and would like for fans to almost forget about him and the rumors surrounding his debut and possible bout with the Undertaker for the time being.
Editor’s Note: I’ve said it from day one. I’ll believe Sting has signed with WWE once I see him in that ring. I’ll also say this again, if WWE officials do NOT say, “You cannot have a sign referencing Sting,” or CM Punk for that matter, ON THE TICKET, then they have ZERO right to confiscate any sign you bring in that isn’t laden with profanity. I highly doubt security in Alabama was told to remove Sting signs. Sounds like a fan sent in a report to a news site just to rouse a response from the IWC…just like they have in regards to CM Punk since January.
