WrestlingRumors.net previously published a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which claimed that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may not be able to make WrestleMania 31 events, such as the show itself and the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame, due to his promotional schedule for the upcoming film, “Fast and Furious 7.” However, a WrestleMania 31 poster features The Rock and may assure his involvement with the event.
WrestleMania 31 will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on Mar. 29. On the arena’s official website, an image, which appears to be the poster for WrestleMania 31, graces the homepage promoting the “Grand Daddy of Them All.” The three superstars featured on the poster are Batista, Brock Lesnar, and the man in question himself, The Rock.
Johnson has been rumored to be headlining the 2015 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame, although his involvement with the upcoming WrestleMania week events came into question with the release date of “Fast and Furious 7” getting pushed back. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claimed that while not impossible, it was Johnson is not expected to make WrestleMania 31 if having to do promotion for the movie.
It seems as if the poster would beg to differ with Meltzer, and that The Rock may return for not only the WWE Hall of Fame, but would appear in some sort of match at WrestleMania 31. The image on the poster featuring The Rock, Batista, and Lesnar was probably created some time ago, but it should be noted that it is still being used as the promotional material on the Levi’s Stadium official website.
No matter what, the card is always subject to change. However, we won’t know whether or not The Rock will be involved with the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame and/or WrestleMania 31 until we get closer to Mar. 29.
Editor’s Note:
If you take the poster as gospel, as many did with the “SummerSlam” poster, than Rock will be there with wrestling trunks on. I think we should just wait it out and see what happens. He’ll be inducted very soon into the Hall of Fame. If not in 2015, likely in 2016.
An interesting note however, is the poster itself. It features a portion of a graphic that WrestlingRumors.net’s own Will Benson created for our website. Benson created the following image, which featured the leaked logo, back in December of 2013.
It appears as if the WWE design department liked Benson’s design so much, that they literally just cut out the logo from the graphic below, and imposed it on top of the image of Lesnar, Rock, and Batista.
