A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on the possible sale of TNA Wrestling. According to the report, all talks of selling the company have cooled off significantly over the last few weeks.
This being said, it is unusual that conversations about selling the company would slow down over the last few weeks, when it was just around three-to-four weeks ago that the frontrunner to buy TNA said that he really did want it if the price was right. This person is said to be a major celebrity (not Billy Corgan) and his desire is to have complete ownership of the company if the price for purchase is fair.
Janice Carter, one of the owners of the company, did release a memo to TNA employees during the first week of November, telling the TNA talent that they are not selling and all of the rumors regarding them even thinking about it is absurd.
Billy Corgan, of Smashing Pumpkins fame, would also love to own the company. He is still said to be interested. Jake “The Snake” Roberts has also stated that he would love to start a kickstarted campaign to get fans of his to help raise the money it would take for him to purchase TNA Wrestling. Roberts claims that he would make it into one “damn good” company that focused more on the wrestling.
