A great deal of criticism, especially from fans, has been thrown towards the WWE for their constant use of “bully-like” characters while they embark on an anti-bullying campaign off-camera. Former WWE Champion and current COO of the company, Triple H, took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to address said criticism, of which has been placed on his head recently with his current on-air “heel turn.”

Triple H says,

This is the second time in a week that the WWE has addressed this criticism against their use of “bully heels” while undergoing the Be a STAR campaign. Stephanie McMahon, the wife of Triple H, addressed the same matter last week in response to Ryback’s heel character being an over-the-top bully. While it is well known that these men and women are playing characters, many parents and young children only see blurred lines when the watch Ryback bully someone to the brink of tears, and then watch a Be a STAR ad.

The overall label being thrown at the WWE right now due to these characters and campaign is hypocrisy, which the WWE believes it is not engaging in.
