The 2014 Money in the Bank winner, Seth Rollins, may have suffered a knee injury during the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Rollins apparently injured his knee performing a spot during the main event 2-on-3 Handicap Match that wrapped up the broadcast.
Rollins performed a spring-board from the ring apron into the ring in an attempt to attack Roman Reigns, and while he wasn’t supposed to land the blow, it seemed as if he tweaked his knee upon the landing. He was then unceremoniously clotheslined over the top rope to the floor, and apparently damaged the same knee upon landing.
The Money in the Bank winner immediately began drawing attention to the injury, calling for ringside physicians to come and tend to him off camera. The official threw up the “x,” which generally means that doctors are needed, and cameras were kept off of Rollins for the remainder of the program. He was then assisted to the back by trainers following the live broadcast.
Rollins is set to face Dean Ambrose in a Singles Match at WWE “Battleground” on July 20, though that match may change depending on the severity of the injury. WrestlingRumors.net will keep you up-to-date on this story.
Editor’s Note:
This is NOT good. Rollins was primed for a major push into the main event soon. He’s young and can bounce back, sure, but this will KILL some REALLY good momentum he has.
