The Rock will star in a new animated Disney film. According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has signed on to voice a character in the upcoming Disney animated motion picture, “Moana.”
Johnson, who will be starring in a number of upcoming films, will play Mauri in Disney’s “Moana.” Mauri will be, “a mythological demigod who aids a girl in her search for a fabled island in the ancient South Pacific.”
According to reports, the plot of the film is as follows,
“In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania 2000 years ago, 14-year-old Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.”
Johnson is currently the only person cast for the film, which is due in theaters in late 2016.
