A new report claims that a recent scandal involving former WWE, WCW, and TNA superstar Jeff Jarrett is nothing more than a “fabrication.” Mike Killam of WrestleZone.com claims that a new source has revealed that the rumored story surrounding Jarrett, which included him accosting a minor in a drunken stupor, is completely false.
Jarrett allegedly threatened harm on IWA Mid-South promoter Ian Rotten, and his 17-year-old son John Calvin after Rotten failed to pay him the entire amount promised for an appearance. Rotten claims that he forgot to send the money by accident, and was speaking with Jarrett and his wife Karen Jarrett in regards to the matter, when the intoxicated couple became irate, and the former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion then grabbed Calvin’s glasses and threatened to break them.
Killam’s sources claim that while there was an argument over financial issues, Jarrett was not intoxicated during the confrontation, and by no means “assaulted” Calvin in any way. According to the source, Jarrett did use profanity during the argument, but every other detail described by Rotten is a “complete fabrication.”
Jarrett was at the event not only to make an appearance, but to scout the talent working the independent circuit for prospects that could work for his new wrestling promotion, Global Force Wrestling.
Editor’s Note: I didn’t think Jeff would act out like that while trying to get a wrestling promotion off the ground. It would be a stake through the new promotion’s heart, and his reputation would go sailing out the window. Good to hear that these rumors spread by Rotten are likely just that, rumors.
