Possible Locations for 2015’s “Royal Rumble” and “Elimination Chamber” WWE Events

A new report from PWInsider.com has revealed possible locations for 2015’s “Royal Rumble” and “Elimination Chamber” WWE events. With WrestleMania 31 already confirmed to be taking place in Santa Clara, Calif., it seems as if WWE is already making moves to confirm the locations for the two Special Events that will take place prior to WrestleMania in 2015.

Philadelphia is reportedly where WWE wants to host the 28th-annual “Royal Rumble” Special Event in 2015. Philadelphia has a great reputation crowd-wise when it comes to WWE events, and the city has hosted a “Royal Rumble” before. The Wachovia Center, now the Wells Fargo Center,  in Philadelphia was the site of the 2004 “Royal Rumble,” which saw the late Chris Benoit win the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

For the 2015 “Elimination Chamber” Special Event, WWE has penciled in Memphis’ FedEx Forum. This would be the first WWE Special Event/PPV in the FedEx Forum in eight years. The last WWE PPV held in that arena was the 2007 “Unforgiven” event, which saw Randy Orton defeat WWE Champion John Cena via disqualification, and the Undertaker defeat Mark Henry in the main event.

Editor’s Note: The “Royal Rumble” and “Elimination Chamber” events have become crucial elements to WWE’s “Road to WrestleMania,” and the locations chosen to host them are incredibly important. The crowds for these events HAVE to be into the product so that the sense of excitement in the arena comes crashing through the TV screen. If they fail to select prime spots for these events, the “Road to WrestleMania” will suffer a little bit. If there’s one thing we learned in 2014, the booking reflects the crowd, so for these events we need to book around some of the craziest crowds possible IMO.
