The new WWE logo, that has been featured predominantly throughout the WWE Network, is set to appear on all WWE content moving forward. The rumored launch date for this transition is Aug. 18.
WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that multiple distributors have been issued a statement from WWE that claims the new logo will be attached to everything moving forward, beginning on the day after the 2014 “SummerSlam” PPV, which will take place on Aug. 17.
The report states,
“Home Video and other merchandise partners have reportedly been issued a memo from WWE in recent weeks stating that the new logo will come into effect on August 18th, 2014.”
Stephanie McMahon originally announced in April that the new logo would begin appearing on all WWE content in August. Rumors about a logo change have been running rampant since the new symbol began appearing in promotional material for the WWE Network. The new logo is expected to appear on everything WWE produces, including ring aprons, turnbuckle pads, lower-thirds, marketing materials, etc.
It is also likely that the company will debut a new WWE World Heavyweight Championship that displays the new logo by August as well. The rumor is that the new championship belt will replace the former two titles which currently belong to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. The design of the title will likely mirror the latest WWE Championship design, but will feature the new logo in the center.
Editor’s Note:
So we have a day. This means we could have ONE title debut soon after “SummerSlam” as well. That way two straps aren’t being carried around.
