Jerry Lawler Still Trying to Assemble Memphis Wrestling Library

WWE Hall of Famer and announcer Jerry “The King” Lawler is still trying to assemble a somewhat complete library of Memphis Wrestling content. As previously reported, Lawler is currently seeking footage from the Memphis Wrestling territory, possibly for inclusion in the WWE library of content. The company would then be able to show Memphis Wrestling footage on the WWE Network, as well as on BluRay and DVD.

PWInsider.com is reporting that Lawler is still fervently searching for any Memphis Wrestling related material and hopes to have everything available collected soon. According to the report, Lawler himself has been reaching out to those who may be in possession of high quality copies of Memphis Wrestling TV episodes. The report states that intermediaries and different DVD vendors are also working with Lawler in hopes to acquire as much footage as possible.

The Memphis Wrestling library would be one of the only collections of footage from the Territory days that WWE currently does not own the rights to. WWE currently owns the rights to WCCW, WCW, ECW, FCW, GCW, AWA footage, and more. Including the Memphis library would allow for fans to see Lawler compete in his prime, as well as many other legends of wrestling, on the WWE Network and/or BluRay and DVD collections.
