The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some backstage information in regards to future plans for Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Even though the two men will be competing against each other, as well as five other men for a Money in the Bank briefcase on June 29, their feud will continue, likely until “SummerSlam.”
Rollins attacked Ambrose and fellow Shield comrade Roman Reigns during the June 2 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” effectively killing their faction in the process. Since the decimation of The Shield, Ambrose and Rollins have been at odds, and the feud is scheduled to culminate in two upcoming PPV matches.
July’s event, “Battleground,” has Rollins vs. Ambrose penciled in as one of the marquee matches of the night. However, their big “end-all-be-all” showdown will likely take place at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17.
While both men are both participating in the Traditional Money in the Bank Ladder Match on June 29, neither are currently slated to win the briefcase. However, plans for the finish may change now due to the injury that current Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered during the “Smackdown” tapings for June 27. With Barrett (who was said to be the front-runner for the briefcase) now questionable for “Money In The Bank,” WWE officials may have Rollins or Ambrose bring down the WWE World Heavyweight Championship contract.
Editor’s Note:
I’m ready for a program of matches between these two. It’s been picking up steam over the last couple of weeks, and now I’m ready to sit back and enjoy it.
