There may be “bad news” for Wade Barrett behind-the-curtain, as the latest “Bad News” Barrett segments were viewed as failures backstage. In a new report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, it is said that Barrett’s new “Bad News” gimmick was looked down on backstage.
Barrett performed under his new “Bad News” gimmick during the December 2nd edition of “Monday Night Raw” after months of speculation over when Barrett would appear as this new character on the program. In two very awkward segments during WWE’s flagship program, Barrett attempted to make sarcastic remarks that could be considered “bad news” for fans and talent alike, and the feeling backstage is that the segments felt forced and un-natural.
This viewpoint backstage towards the “Bad News” Barrett gimmick is very different than what was reported a few months ago. As we previously reported, officials backstage loved the gimmick as Barrett was making appearances on the JBL & Cole show, doing the character from time-to-time. There’s no word yet as to how long they’ll give Barrett with this new character, but if this one can’t get over, it could mean “bad news” for Wade Barrett.
