Wrestling Rumors Awards 2017: “Breakout Superstar of the Year”

We all look forward to seeing the main event stars at the wrestling shows that we attend or watch on television. For the most part, they are the ones who are at the top of their game in the industry, and have set themselves apart from the rest of the locker room.

However, every main event competitor had to have a breakout year, where they rose to superstardom. Which person was that in 2017?

For this category, we are considering superstars who were relative unknowns in January of this year, but have made the biggest improvement in either their character development, status in the company, etc. The superstar has planted the seeds to be a main event player for many years to come.
