However, the new title reign might not last very long.
Following the show, on “Talking Smack,” Styles invoked his rematch clause, and will challenge Corbin for the title on next Tuesday’s “Smackdown Live.”
Below is some footage from tonight’s match:
The match was originally scheduled to be a one-on-one contest between “The Phenomenal One” and the “Lone Wolf.” However, because “The Perfect 10” picked up a victory on last week’s episode of “Smackdown Live,” he felt that he should be added to the match.
General Manager Daniel Bryan agreed, which turned the match into a triple threat contest.
Editor’s Note:
I am OK with this. Get the rematch out of the way, and then everyone involved can move onto other things. I feel that the feud between Corbin and Dillinger will continue, while Styles may be getting involved in a program with Sami Zayn in the near future. Those seeds were planted tonight on “Talking Smack.”
