It had been previously rumored that Samoa Joe would be leaving Smackdown Live and bringing the United States Championship with him to Raw. This is due to the fact that Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor was drafted to the blue brand in the 2019 Superstar Shakeup.
This rumor proved to be true, as the Samoan Submission Machine officially made his debut on Raw during the first segment of tonight’s show.

Joe would compete against Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles in a Triple Threat match, with the winner earning the right to face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at Money In The Bank 2019.
He would lose that match, however, and Styles would eventually go on to become the new No. 1 contender for Rollins’ championship.
Editor’s Opinion:
No surprises here, as both shows need a mid-card champion. That being said, there is potential for some great feuds for the United States championship. I can’t wait.
