Ole! Ole! Ole!
Zayn was last seen on the main roster on the May 4 episode of “Raw.” He answered John Cena’s US Open Challenge in his hometown of Montreal, Canada, but suffered a legitimate injury before the match even began.
There has been a long-standing rivalry between Owens and Zayn. After viciously beating Zayn down multiple times, “KO” would go on to win the NXT Championship from Zayn at “NXT Takeover: Rival” on Feb. 11, 2015. Zayn would extract his revenge in this year’s “Royal Rumble,” entering the match at no. 20 and being the one who eliminated Owens from the match.
It has been previously reported that Zayn will be wrestling at WrestleMania 32. It would appear that he and Owens will culminate their rivalry for the Intercontinental Championship at “The Granddaddy of Them All.”
Editor’s Note:
This makes me so happy. I was very worried about what Kevin Owens would be doing at WrestleMania, as his booking has been so for many weeks. But he and Sami Zayn have the opportunity to steal the show with such a personal build going into this match. I can’t wait!
