How the tables have turned. Last night on SmackDown, The Rock returned to WWE and stood face-to-face with Roman Reigns for the first time since Reigns began his historic championship run. This came after Cody Rhodes said that he would not be facing The Tribal Chief for the championship at WrestleMania 40.
While the pop in the arena was huge, social media didn’t have the same reaction.
According to a report from WrestleOps:

Editor’s Opinion:
In the words of Stephen A. Smith, “Be patient, just wait.” We have no idea how this is going to play out; a match between the two was not announced. Everyone just immediately assumed that Cody was going to have to take a backseat to The Great One because the company just lost two of its biggest stars in CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. People have been clambering for a Rock/Reigns dream match for years; they finally get it and now are upset. How does that make sense? We’ve heard that this has been a possibility even before the Royal Rumble.
There are still two months until WrestleMania, with the Elimination Chamber a few weeks away. Let’s just give this a chance, and see how this plays out!
