Time for the Heartbreak Kid to do what he does best. According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shawn Michaels will be coming out of retirement to compete in his first match in 8 years. He is scheduled to team with HHH to take on the team of The Undertaker and Kane at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view on November 2 in Saudi Arabia.
The seeds of this match were planted during a promo between Michaels and The Undertaker on Raw a few weeks ago. You can see a clip of that below:
During the promo, Michaels said that he would be Triple H’s corner for his match with the Deadman at the upcoming Super-Show Down in Australia on October 6. This past week on Raw, The Undertaker responded by saying that Kane will be in his corner.
This is most likely the angle that will be used leading up to this tag team match.
The report also states that Michaels had been adamant that he wouldn’t come out of retirement, but the money offer was likely too much to turn down.
Editor’s Opinion:
They say never say never in this business, but I’ll believe this when I see it. I had always thought that HBK would be the one person that would never come out of retirement, as he’s more than likely had plenty of opportunities over the years. However, if this does happen, count me in as the nostalgia will be through the roof! Also, a potential DX reunion would be absolutely amazing!
