The lunatic is out of his asylum. Tonight at the 2018 TLC pay-per-view, Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins to become the new Intercontinental Champion. This will be Ambrose’s third run with the title.
You can see a clip from their match below:
This was an interesting battle, right from the start of the match. Immediately, Ambrose started to try to play his mind games with Rollins, which led to a slower, more methodical pace. This would continue throughout the match, with the action being more calculated and scientific for the duration of the contest.
Near the end of the match, The Lunatic Fringe tried to extend the fist which signified The Shield to Rollins, but The Architect wasn’t having any of it. However, it would allow him to be distracted enough for Ambrose to sneak in Dirty Deeds and pick up the victory.
Editor’s Opinion:
The crowd was really dead for this one, and I’ve been trying to rack my brain to figure out why. Part of me thinks that because this match was hyped to be an all out brawl between the combatants, the crowd became restless when it didn’t happen. Also, I was more intrigued with the feud between Corey Graves and Renee Young that happened on commentary. It went to a new level tonight.
