It had been previously reported that Jeff Hardy was recently arrested in Volusia County, Florida, on charges of driving on a suspended license, violating restrictions placed on a driver’s license, and driving under the influence.
Tony Khan has released the following statement regarding Hardy’s status with AEW:
“We were able to resume contact with Jeff Hardy this afternoon. AEW does not condone Jeff’s alleged behavior. We’ve made it clear to Jeff that we’ll assist him in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, which he has indicated that he’s open to receiving. In the interim, he is suspended without pay, and he can only return to AEW upon successfully completing treatment and maintaining his sobriety,” Khan’s statement said.
“If you or a loved one needs help, please reach out to SAMHSA’s National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357).”

Unfortunately, this is not the first time this type of offense has occurred; Hardy was sent home from a WWE tour in December 2021 and was released by the company shortly after.
His brother, Matt, addressed the incident on Twitter as well:
“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday. Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.”

Editor’s Opinion:
You absolutely hate to see this happen, and I am very sad that this is the case for Brother Nero. I hope that he gets the help that he seems to need desperately and can continue to do positive things in the wrestling world upon completion of his treatment.
