He’s a free man. According to a report from PWInsider, charges against AEW superstar Cash Wheeler for aggravated assault will not be moving forward. Furthermore, an Orange County, Florida court has dropped and abandoned the case altogether.
A warrant for Wheeler was issued on July 28, 2023, following an incident that occurred a few weeks prior. However, the court filed a “Nolle Prosequi, ” a Latin phrase that is a legal notice from the Prosecution saying that they have opted to drop and abandon the case. Furthermore, the report states that the trial set for May 20th has been canceled. Additionally, Wheeler’s bond has been released, and the case against them was officially closed earlier this week. This indicates that the charges or legal proceedings against Wheeler have been dismissed before going to trial.
Throughout the legal proceedings, Wheeler maintained a plea of not guilty to all charges leveled against him. Despite the initial arrest and charges, Wheeler’s consistent not-guilty plea set the stage for the legal battle that ultimately culminated in the dismissal of the case and the release of his bond. The incident is believed to have been a road rage situation when Wheeler flashed a gun at another party.
